  • Moong dal - 100 grams
  • Mawa - 125 grams
  • Sugar - 150 grams
  • Ghee - 100 grams
  • Cardamom - 4 (grind to a powder)
  • Raisins - little
  • Cashews - 20-25
  • Almonds - 7-8
  • Pistachios - 10-12

Note: To make moong dal pudding, first of all, soak the dal in water for 2-3 hours.

How to Make Moong Dal Halwa Recipe at Home

To make moong dal pudding, first of all, take out the water of the soaked dal and grind it in a grinder.
Now add desi ghee in a pan and add powdered moong dal to it and fry it well.
Roast the moong dal carefully inside the desi ghee in the pan as it burns very quickly, so keeps stirring it evenly. It will take at least 15-20 minutes to fry the moong completely with ghee.
When the color of the lentil paste starts changing and it starts to smell, then you understand that this halwa is ready to be made, now you turn off the gas.
Keep in mind that fry the moong dal paste on low heat.
Now put one spoon of ghee in a pan, when it melts, then grind it by hand and add finely chopped
|Mawe and fry it on low heat. Mawa will also change its color while roasting like lentils and will start smelling from it.
Now take a pan and add one and a half cup of water to it and add sugar to it and with this, you prepare the sugar syrup. When one wire syrup is ready, then add roasted moong dal paste and Mawa to it.
In this mixture, you also add all the finely chopped dry fruits.
Now mix it well and now you add cardamom powder to it and mix it well.
Now to make the pudding, stir it continuously with a ladle.
The slower you cook the Moong Dal Halwa, the better it will taste.
If you notice, the pudding will gradually thicken. The syrup in which you have added moong dal paste and Mawa will mix well in it.
According to your preference, you have to keep the thick pudding and cook it while stirring it on the gas for that long.
Keep in mind that the more the pudding tastes, the more it will taste.
Now after turning off the gas, you put a spoon of desi ghee in it, it will double the taste even more.
Tips: The fresher you eat moong dal halwa, the more delicious it will taste, but if you want, you can keep it in the refrigerator after cooling it and when you feel like eating it by heating it in the oven. Moong Dal Halwa can be kept in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. You can also add grated coconut to it if you want. And if you like, add Chiroji too and make moong dal pudding, in most weddings, moong dal halwa is added to it.
